Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is the Flowflex Plus 4-in-1 Home Test?
The Flowflex Plus 4-in-1 Home Test is a rapid, at-home diagnostic test capable of detecting four respiratory viruses—RSV, Influenza A, Influenza B, and SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19)—from a simple anterior nasal swab.
2. How does this test work?
Using an anterior nasal swab, this test detects viral antigens to determine if you are positive for RSV, Flu A, Flu B, or COVID-19. Results are available in approximately 15 minutes.
3. Who can use this test?
Self-collected nasal swab samples: ages 14+.
Adult-collected nasal swab samples: ages 6 months and older.
4. Can I use this test even if I have no symptoms?
Yes. This test is intended for individuals with or without symptoms, or with other epidemiological reasons to test for RSV, influenza, or COVID-19.
5. Can I swab my throat or ears instead of my nose?
No. Please only swab your nose. Follow the instructions included in the package insert.
6. Can I use a different swab, such as a Q-tip?
No. Only use the swab provided inside the test kit.
7. How deep should I insert the swab?
Insert the swab ½ to ¾ inches inside the nostril. For young children, insertion depth may be less. Proper collection is critical for an accurate result.
8. Do I swab both nostrils?
Yes. Swab both nostrils to ensure enough sample is collected.
9. How long does the swabbing take?
Rub the swab inside the nostril in a circular motion for about 15 seconds (around 5 rotations). Repeat in the other nostril.
10. How many drops do I place on the test cassette?
Dispense 4 drops of the processed sample into the Sample Well marked with “S.”
11. How long does it take to obtain results?
Results are available in approximately 15 minutes. Do not read the result after the time indicated in the instructions.
