Paying with HSA/FSA? Keep your cart 100% eligible.
Most HSA/FSA cards decline the entire transaction if your cart contains any non-eligible items. To avoid a failed checkout, only add products with the HSA/FSA badge — and place a separate order with another card for anything else.
Eligible product categories
All products below qualify for HSA and FSA spending under IRS Publication 502.

How it works
Three steps to shop tax-free with your health account.
Shop eligible products
Browse thousands of HSA/FSA eligible items. Look for the HSA/FSA badge on qualifying products.
Pay with your card
At checkout, select your HSA or FSA debit card as your payment method. It works just like a regular Visa or Mastercard.
Save tax-free
Your purchase is paid with pre-tax dollars. No reimbursement forms, no waiting. Keep your receipt for your records.
What is a Letter of Medical Necessity?
Some products only qualify for HSA/FSA reimbursement with a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) — a short note from your doctor stating that the product treats a specific medical condition.
Items marked "LMN Required" in our store need this letter before your plan administrator will approve the expense. Once you have the LMN on file with your benefits provider, you can use your HSA/FSA card normally at checkout.
See the full LMN guide → for the product categories that require an LMN, how to obtain one from your provider, and how the Eligibility Guarantee applies.
Frequently asked questions
What are HSA and FSA accounts?
Health Savings Account (HSA) is a tax-advantaged account for individuals with high-deductible health plans. Funds roll over year to year and never expire.
Flexible Spending Account (FSA) is an employer-sponsored account that lets you set aside pre-tax dollars for qualified medical expenses. Most FSA funds must be used by December 31 or you lose them (use-it-or-lose-it).
Which WellBefore products are eligible?
Our eligible products include face masks, N95 respirators, nitrile gloves, PPE, COVID-19 test kits, wound care, oral care, and eye care products. All eligible items are tagged with the HSA/FSA badge. Browse all eligible products.
How do I pay with my HSA/FSA card?
Simply use your HSA or FSA debit card at checkout, just like any Visa or Mastercard. Select "Credit Card" as your payment method and enter your HSA/FSA card details. The transaction is processed automatically against your health account balance.
What if my HSA/FSA card is declined?
The most common cause is a mixed cart. Most HSA/FSA cards decline the entire transaction if even one non-eligible item is in your order — place eligible items in a separate order to avoid this.
Other common reasons:
- Insufficient balance — check your remaining HSA/FSA funds with your provider.
- Card not activated — contact your benefits administrator to activate your card.
- Transaction limit — your plan may have per-transaction limits.
If your card is declined, you can pay with a regular credit card and submit for reimbursement through your HSA/FSA provider using your order receipt.
When do FSA funds expire?
Most FSA plans follow a use-it-or-lose-it rule. Funds typically expire on December 31 of each plan year. Some employers offer:
- A grace period of up to 2.5 months into the next year.
- A rollover of up to $640 (2024 limit) into the next plan year.
Check with your employer or benefits administrator for your specific plan rules. Don't let your hard-earned benefits go to waste.
What if a product turns out not to be HSA/FSA eligible?
We stand behind every product we tag as HSA/FSA eligible under our Eligibility Guarantee. If your plan administrator issues a written determination that a purchased product isn't a qualified medical expense — and our substantiation efforts don't resolve it — approved claims are resolved as either a refund to the original payment method or 24-month WellBefore store credit (your choice), confirmed within 5 business days.
Limit of one approved claim per customer per calendar year. Plan-specific rules stricter than IRS Pub 502 are outside this guarantee's scope.
Backed by our Eligibility Guarantee
Every product we tag as HSA/FSA eligible is verified against IRS Publication 502. If your plan administrator ever determines a purchased product doesn't qualify, we'll make it right on the terms outlined in our guarantee. Subject to guarantee terms, including a limit of one claim per customer per year.
